The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds. The count website wi'll be adding updated GBBC materials for the next count as they become available.
The bird count is organized by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
I must have missed it--What do I do after I count my birds? Is someone collecting this information? Do I send it somewhere?
Thanks. Ruth

Woops, I left off the link to the Bird Count website, which is http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc/whycount.html. That site is full of information and resources for this weekend's count. The How To page is especially helpful: http://www.birdsource.org/gbbc/howto.html. It has regional bird checklists and a data form, and there's a place to enter your results. -- Sue Korté, editor]
