George Wiley Center to Call on Governor Concerning Issues of Energy Justice at Governor Carcieri’s Office, Statehouse, on Friday August 21st at 10:00 A.M.
Pawtucket, RI - The George Wiley Center is hosting a press conference on Friday morning, 10:00 AM outside of Governor Carcieri’s office to seek answers for their questions concerning residential utilities.
1 How will the RI Office of Energy Resources spend its $59 million from Obama? How many jobs will be created in the community? How many of the 6,000+ families whose utilities are currently shut-off will be helped?
2 Why won’t Governor Carcieri appoint two new Public Utility Commissioners to help defend RI residents against national Grid’s demand for an additional $75 million in operating funds?
3 Why has the Public Utilities Commission locked its doors to the public, making it harder to access the Commissioners?
Didn’t President Obama declare this to be the ‘Age of Transparency’?
