Monday, July 16, 2007 ~ As you could tell from the Providential Gardener Calendar, this was a busy weekend just past. I had committed to the Master Gardener Tour a few months ago, so I spent both Saturday and Sunday driving from East Providence to North Smithfield, finally ending up in Matunuck Sunday afternoon. I did my best to see all the gardens. However, I only made about 17 of them, which is quite a lot. I know I missed some great gardens ~ didn't get to Newport County at all. And I didn't get to talk and visit with folks as much as I might have liked, but this was the first Master Gardner Tour I have taken, and I wanted to see as many of the sights and experience the spaces created by the garden-artists who so kindly opened their landscapes to hundreds of garden lovers. It was so hard to leave the well-tended gardens when they were full of inviting places to sit and relax! Sensible people visit maybe 5 gardens a day, and they do take time to sit and enjoy.
Anyway, I have more than 150 photos, not all of which I can put on this blog. I'm sending most of them to the Master Gardeners, and I will be glad to send all I have to the garden owners. It takes a while to caption all the photos, so the 2007 Master Gardener Tour Photo Album only has Saturday's photos today. The rest will be up in the next day or two.
P.S.: Tuesday: The Sunday photos are now in the 2007 Master Gardener Tour Photo Album. Still working on captions...
