If you check your local paper, ask your neighbors, or just pay attention when you are out driving, you will find out about dozens of cleanup projects around Rhode Island in the next week or so. Tomorrow, in Providence, The Friends of India Point Park are cleaning up that great space near the new I-way (I-195). And the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council is cleaning up along that river out toward the Western part of the city, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Cleanups are at Kinsley & Sims Avenue, Donigan Park, and Merino Park in Providence. There's no such thing as a free lunch, of course, because you will have worked all morning, but after the cleanup there is a "free" lunch at Donigan Park at 1pm. Call 401-861-9046 for more information.
Check out the other Posting in Providential Gardener for other links to Earth Day cleanups. Spring cleaning feels great, but remember that every day is Earth Day!
