Maybe you have received several seed catalogs by now? Have you check the New England Wild Flower Society's Native Plant Seed Catalog? The plants most likely to grow in our yards with the least trouble are the natives, so consider adding some of these to your gardens this coming spring. The Rhode Island Natural History Survey has books for sale on the subject:
- Going Native: Biodiversity in Our Own Backyards, edited by Janet Marinelli
- Starting from Seed: The Natural Gardener's Guide to Propagating Plants, edited by Karen Davis Cutler; and
- Wildflower Gardens: 60 Spectacular Plants and How to Grow Them in Your Garden, edited by C. Colston Burrell
