Even if you cannot lift a shovel, you can help the Providence Neighborhood Planting Program (PNPP) in its efforts to restore Providence to "The Forest City" it once was called. PNPP asks us citizens to contact our city council members and the Mayor to request added money to the budget for street trees. As those of us who are volunteering on the Street Tree Tally in Providence are learning, many people wish they had more trees and healthier trees along their streets. PNPP is the place to go. For applications for next year's spring planting, check out their website: www.pnpp.org.
